Overview
iSS Notepad is a simple but versatile text editing tool that you can use to create or edit text documents.
The most common use for iSS Notepad is to view or edit text (.txt) files, but many users find this to be a simple tool for creating Web or XML files.
Because iSS Notepad supports only basic formatting, you cannot accidentally save special formatting in documents that need to remain pure text.
This is especially useful when creating HTML documents for a webpages as special characters or other formatting may not appear in your published Web page, possibly causing errors.
This help document was created using iSS Notepad on a Windows Mobile 6 Pocket PC.
You can save your Notepad files as ANSI, UTF-8, Unicode, or big-endian Unicode, providing greater flexibility when working with documents that use different character sets.

How To Use
Open and Save
Open the file menu to open or save files to/from any location on your device.
Change Encoding
Notepad will automatically detect the file encoding type when opening a file. You may change the encoding type before saving from the File/Encoding menu.
Cut/Copy/Paste:
Available from the Edit menu, but can also be applied by typing Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V respectively.
Delete/Delete All:
Available from the Edit menu, Delete Removes the text that has been selected, and Delete All clears the page.
Time/Date:
Inserts current time and date into the text at the current cursor position.
Find...
Allows you to set the characters to search for, as well as the method of searching.
With Search Down checked, it will search for the first matching phrase from the cursor down. With it unchecked, it works its way from the cursor towards the top of the file. If Match Case is
unselected it will ignore the difference between upper and lower case letters.
Find Next:
Searches the document according to what is set in the "Find..." menu.
Replace...
Allows you to find specific text and replace it.
Format:
Word Wrap will automatically begin a new line when text reaches the edge of the screen for easier viewing. This will not affect the file when saved.
Font will allow you to choose from available fonts installed on your device as well as changing the font size. These settings will not affect the file when saved.
Log
To use the log feature, write .LOG in the first line of any text file and save. Next time the file is opened, Notepad will go to the end of the file and insert the current time and date.

Uninstalling
To uninstall from your Windows Mobile Pocket PC: (WM Classic/WM Professional)
- Go to Start | Settings | System tab | Remove Programs.
- Select on the name of the iSS game or application and tap "Remove".
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
To uninstall from your Windows Mobile Smartphone: (WM Standard)
- Go to Start | Settings | Remove Programs.
- Select on the name of the iSS game or application and tap "Remove".
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
Your iSS Windows Mobile application should now have been uninstalled.
Note, when updating your iSS Software, you should uninstall any old versions before installing the new version.
In most cases, you can install a new trial version to update an older full version unless the new version is a paid upgrade.
